Hi I just wondered if anyone knows if and where you can get bloods done privately? Basically I asked my nurse today during my annual thyroid check if it could also be checked for B12..... to cut a long story short she said she couldn’t as it’s up to the doctor. I have seen my doctor about it before and basically got told I didn’t need the test as I’m not old! My mother and sister both have B12 deficiencies and I have an underactive thyroid but they don’t test me for B12 or even a full blood count 🤔

Thyroid UK have a couple of recommended labs who do private blood tests

It's often cheaper to have a thyroid/vitamin bundle than individual tests, but have a look through and see what you can find

Some can be done by fingerprick, some need a venous blood draw.
