Having seen an Endo privately, my levo has been increased slightly and I have been advised to take iron for my hairloss, in the liquid form as I suffer from severe constipation. I was also prescribed Amitriptyline for my insomnia. After 3 weeks I have Not noticed any difference with my hairloss or my excessive weight gain, in fact I have actually gained more weight. I have read several times that the lack of T3 will cause hairloss and weight gain around the middle. My consitpation has been a lot better since taking the liquid iron but unfortunately that is the only plus so far.
Can anyone tell me how I can order T3? If so please PM me.
Also does anyone know if there are any adverse effects from Amitriptyline?
Many thanks.

Are your vitamins and minerals at optimal levels, have you had them tested recently - Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin. All need to be optimal for thyroid hormone to work.
Have you had thyroid antibodies tested and were they raised?
Lots of things to get right first before considering T3 and that includes a TSH of about 1 or below so we can see if your FT4/FT3 results show poor conversion, and optimal nutrient levels.
My bloods are being done next Thursday but my last tests showed (from memory) TSH was just over 1. My Vit D and B12 were perfect because I take supplements but my Ferritin was 30, hence why I am now drinking Spatone iron supplement with Vit C each day. I have in the past been tested for autoimmune disease but the results were fine. I don't know if I have ever had thyroid antibodies tested.
