If I were in your position I would put off the decision a little longer. 3 months isn't that long. Have you got blood test results that include ft3 taken after you have been establshed on 4 grains for at least 8 weeks? 1 grain is roughly equal to the 100mcg of levo you were on so 4 grains is a large increase.
Thank you for your answer. I thought it was 35 per grain? Which would still be higher but the problem was levo was not working on the symptoms just on the blood tests! Might try going down a little but I’ll stick at this for now.
I would get your ft3 tested. A lot of experienced people just go by how they feel, but you are new to ndt so knowing the ft3 isn't over range is important in my oppinion. If you have a look at other posts you will see some estimations of what is typically in 1 grain of ndt, there is t4 and t3. T3 is more potent so that bit needs to be multiplied by 3 I think plus the t4 so it comes out at more like 100mcg of t4.
One grain is 60-65mcg levo equivalent. To get 100mcg you have to assume that T3 is about 5 or 6 times as effective as T4 instead of the usual 3 or 4 times.
Sorry, forgot the second part of your question. By my reckoning, one grain of NDT contains roughly the equivalent of 65 mcg levo. But, it depends how much of the T4 you can convert when comparing it with your previous dose of levo.
I would agree with greybeard. It’s great that you’re feeling good, but it’s worth doing a double check and compare your feeling good to your blood results. It will tell you exactly where your are.
I'm sure you know the signs of being over medicated. Keep a check of your pulse rate and your body temperature, they will be raised if over medicated. Watch out for tremors or a feeling that you have an internal vibration.
Can you pick up your prescription as normal, but just hang on to it and not get it filled? That way your records show that it is still being prescribed.
I agree with Greybeard that I would give it a lot longer before making any decision to tell your GP.
