So forgetful!

This morning I thought I’d left my purse at home, so I borrowed the work van to pop home to get it. I got home, realised I probably left my purse in my car which my husband has left at the airport while he’s away for a couple of days. Then I walk out, slam the front door and leave both house and van keys inside the house.

My brain does not work properly, I forget things, words, names and it’s so worrying! Memory is shocking.

If I can get my Dr to prescribe Levo will this improve or will it just stop it getting worse?

(Earlier posts - TSH over range, positive antibodies and over range, ferritin under range and b12, folate low in range - but dr is so far OK with all this). Appointment with 2nd dr in the practice next week.

email Dionne at tukadmin@thyroiduk.org and ask for a copy of Dr Toft's Pulse Online article. Highlight the phrase where he states if antibodies are present the patient should be given levothyroxine.

When hypo our T3 is low, especially when newly diagnosed, and it is T3 - the active thyroid hormone - which is needed in every cell in our body and brain and heart need the most.

Levothyroxine is T4 and has to convert to T3.

Give GP a copy of the following link:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Dr Toft is also physician to the Queen when she's in Scotland.

Tick off your clinical symptoms and give to GP as well. All should be relieved when we are on an optimum of thyroid hormones which suit us.

Thanks Shaws, I already have the article. I’ve printed it along with other info to take to my appointment with me and made notes so I don’t forget anything. This is the 2nd dr in the surgery I’m seeing because 1st won’t do anything. I don’t suppose this one will disagree with her but with info in hand I’ll push for treatment x

If the doctor looks at nothing else, point out your woeful ferritin levels (I looked back through past posts and spotted the one you wrote for the PA forum :) ).
