Even subclinical levels are associated with CVD. Good read.

Thanks for posting. MD is common and known to be associated with heart disorders and both hypo and hyper thyroidism can cause MD. I haven't read the article yet but as it's from a respected journal I assume it is good. The term 'subclinical MD' is uncommon, it is often referred to as 'latent' rather than 'subclinical' - just for info.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting.

I restarted taking magnesium supplements last week after experiencing twitching leg muscles and cramp in my feet again.

Thank you cwill, very interesting...A lot to wade through with my peasouper of a brain, but I get the essence.

Amongst everything that I am addressing with my health, intracellular magnesium is one is now on my map. I supplement with Magnesium Citrate as a natural laxative with Vit C for my Paleo diet and also take Magnesium threonate with 5HTP nocte, as I have read that it is a smaller molecule and able to get through the blood brain barrier more easily. Finally I soak in Dead Sea Salt.

My July 2017 Hair Mineral Analysis showed a 3mg Magnesium [6.0mg] and after starting my supplements, my February 2018 magnesium serum result was 0.82 mmol/L [0.60 - 1.00]. I do weekly coffee enemas (which support my liver really well) so I have to be careful of electrolyte depletion and take eleete electrolytes afterwards.

Random questions:

What would be the best intracellular magnesium test ?

Does any intracellular magnesium imbalance manifest this odd symptom of hearing my own heart beat loudly (as well as my companionably needy tinnitus) when lying down - so much so sleeping on my left side is difficult !!??

@jimh111 and @SandraS68 do you have any ideas too?

:-)
