A previous Video of Dr Chandy who was threatened by the GMC for prescribing vitamin B12 to some of his patients who has now had his Licence removed. Why? It would appear he issued too many B12 prescriptions and his patients recovered!

He told me last night he was treating 400 patients with b12 injections. If any of us had been his patients at the time we would of all been on injections.

If people have PA, many complain that a quarterly injection is too long between doses. Some resort to self-injections (I couldn't do that) but sublingual is said to be just as effective. The NHS state quarterly only.

Vitamins are important as they, I believe, interconnect.

Wow, what a wonderful man he is. His fight with the nhs is like david and goliath. I wish him the best of luck in what he is doing. Thanks for sharing this. :-)

Medicine is the new church. Whenever it's orthodoxy is challenged there is a cry of 'Burn him/her at the stake'.

We had another case only today, of the doctor who challenged the shaken baby theory.

Just as the medieval church became almost totally divorced from religion, so the medical establishment is becoming divorced from the business of cure.

And at the heart of it all is money!

When he spoke to TPA conference he spoke of treating his daughter as putting him back in the spotlight. He did seem to give the impression that lack of B12, was the cause of almost every ailment. He seemed a genuine caring man but maybe had become too focused on B12 as a cure all.

I suppose it's like us who remained undiagnosed despite clinical symptoms (I never had a blood test taken) who cannot understand why. I don't think we really know the extent of non diagnosis of B12 deficiency or Thyroid.

I myself have had a problem for a while which bothered me. My GP read my B12 levels on his computer which he agreed were fine but has referred me to a neurologist (I do have PA but it was diagnosed by accident as never have had any symptoms) but on reading through some of these links last night - I have read about the symptom I have at present so I am one step ahead of the neurologist already. Will he agree or accept a suggestion from me?

To know whether you have a B12 deficiency the doctor has to do a blood test. You can also ask him to do a Vitamin D, iron, ferritin and folate at the same time. You can then put them on a new post for comments.

A B12 deficiency can either be due to our stomachs not being able to absorb vitamin B12 and it is caused by Pernicious Anaemia and the doctor would give you an injection every three months. An ordinary B12 deficiency you would have to buy sublingual methylcobalamin B12 yourself and take a daily dose. You cannot overdose as any excess is excreted.

If your B12 dose is very low you can start on 5,000 B12 sublingual methylcobalamin or 1,000 B12 sublingual methylcobalamin. If you've taken too much it is excreted in our urine so you cannot overdose.

Vitamin B12 ideficiency is most important for us to correct.

I hope this helps. :)

So what is the correct range to have when it comes to b12. Mine was 77 and the doctor said perfectly normal no need for me to take b12.

Cheekycharlie1981. If you have the ranges of your B12 test (the figures are in brackets after the result) it will be easier to comment. Labs differ in the ranges they use so it's not so easy.
