I have been having sinus problems big time for 2 years or more i had ear and nose tests done they say i have Tinnitus the liquid always comes in white form. I dont have bad teeth. Im 46 don't smoke good diet and active. Like other people it happens when im lying down and sit up but mainly in the mornings . Im always bunging nose with tissues constant but the taste is vial. I keep thinking i have fluid on the brain or a tuma or summat. Should i go to a and e for an mri . I used to be epeleptic in 90s but not born with it. I don't have it now. Any ideas

Do you have a thyroid problem?

Post nasal drip can be due to dairy intolerance, quite common with autoimmune thyroid disease

Tinnitus is connected to low B12

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies. Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Essential to test thyroid antibodies plus vitamins

Private tests are available

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting If taking Levothyroxine, don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's

Have you had a recent blood test for your thyroid hormones? If not I think if you can get your GP to test TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies (if you've not had antibodies tested before). GP or lab may not test all of these but you can get those not tested privately and we have two labs which will do them.

Tinnitus is also a clinical symptom of hypothyroidism and I'll give a link and you may have more symptoms:-

Testing should always be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of thyroid hormones and test and take afterwards.
