Totally confused......again.

Since running out of WP and going over to Nature Thyroid, around ten days ago, my heart rate has slowly climbed to the point where it’s now mostly in the high 80s or 90s. It can spike to 120 whilst sitting. My heart rate on WP was In th 60s whilst sitting. I also have a constant feeling of a very slight anxiousness.

Now I don’t know what the hell to do. Increase, decrease, stop and go back to Levo, take Levo and NDT or none of the above.

Any and all opinions, advice or otherwise very welcome.

Sorry you're havibg such a bad time! Have you contacted RLC? Is your GP any use with regard to hormone health?

Mine NT is somewhere on the way, & I'm so hoping I get along with it!

Hi.

Gp will only advise when on Levo he dose perform blood tests and knows I’m on NDT. He has done his best within his remit.

Could be that Naturethyroid just doesn’t suit me.

That would be nice if you didn't feel poorly, so hope you're ok when you get there!

Reduce your dose by 1/2 grain and then 1/4 gr every two weeks until your pulse reaches a point in which you feel well. Some NDTs have different affects on our body. It can be the fillers/binders that can affect us.

When we take NDT we should increase by 1/4 etc so reducing by 1/4 should be fine.

Hi shaws

Thanks for the reply.

I’m currently on 1 1/2 grain of NDT. No thyroid. It seems a very low dose if I go down to 1 or 1 1/4. Would this be possible. I’m no little fairy. 15stone 6feet.

If you have no thyroid gland 1.5 gr does seem low.

Theoretically, Naturethroid and Westhroid are hypoallergenic so it shouldn't be the cause. Maybe your dose isn't high enough yet (I am not medically qualified) causing palps.

I hope this link will be helpful:

Thought the same but everything points to be over as opposed to being under.

You didn't, I believe, had problems with WP?

As you were taking WP previously without problems, I'd contact RLC labs who make both who might be able to advise.

This is from RLC labs:

Use WP Thyroid® and Nature-Throid® exactly as prescribed. Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, do not stop taking either medication or alter how often it’s taken. Many factors can contribute to the length of time symptoms are alleviated, though generally people feel an improvement within a few weeks. For some, though, improvement in symptoms may take up to three months. Your doctor will determine which dose is right for you. If any life changes or new symptoms occur, consult your doctor to adjust your dose. Continue to see your doctor until your dosage levels prove stable based on your lab work, then continue to see your doctor at their request.

Thanks for the info.

No problems with the 1 grain WP tablets. Did have a few issues with the 2 grain tablets though. But not to do with higher resting heart rate.

The only other thing that has me wondering is my GP, changed my bp pills. I was taking a type prescribed by my doctor when I lived in Serbia. My uk GP asked me to change over to one tablet of candesartan daily. This has coincided with with me changing of to Nature Thyroid. Could be just a coincidence.

Never make more than one change at a time.
