Any help would be appreciated.

I have now been on my increased dose of 75mcg of Levo for 8 weeks and have started feeling better, however I have been increasingly tired over the last few days, where I feel sleepy even when I am driving!! Yesterday and today I have felt a bit nauseous several times in the day and have felt really tired. Today, I was sitting down and whilst sitting I felt very nauseous and light headed. I was wearing a Fitbit so I checked my heart rate which is usually around 75 resting and it shot up to 136 and then down to 66. I am really nervous about going to the doctors, as I am certain she will tell me to come off the increase in Levo which I have been fighting for. However, I wondered whether this may be the cause? Also, I was diagnosed by the Endo as having Hashitoxicosis, so I'm not sure if it would be this? Finally, I haven't gone 100% dairy free as I have felt so much better just stopping gluten, but I rarely eat dairy and had some yesterday and the day before and wonder whether that could cause a reaction like that so quickly?? Any help would be appreciated.

Jillycee,

Your thyroid levels should be retested 6-8 weeks after every dose adjustment. The nausea and lightheadedness may be nothing to do with thyroid levels, or may be due to under medication, not necessarily over medication.

Thanks Clutter. I will ask for a re-test now as the gp asked me to go back for a re-test in September.

could be a reaction to the dairy but as Clutter says you need to get your levels tested again

Agree you need to have bloods tested again to see if you're on the right dose. Also note that if you've been hypo for a while it takes about a year to get back to normal once you're on the right dose. I had problems for around a year and a half after diagnosis because I felt so much better I'd plan far more stuff than I'd done for ages, would wear myself out and then have a collapse/return of symptoms. You'll gradually find that you get more better month on month once you're on the right dose.

I'd also suggest taking the di02 test (available from Thyroid UK) as this will give you an indication of whether levo will work fully (it does for around 85 per cent of people) or whether you may need t3/ndt instead. I have the Di02 gene issue and got better on levo but not to full level of being me. It took the test and a switch to ndt to get me back all the way. I switched after the first year so this is why I took 1.5 years to get back to normal

Good luck
