Help please. I have just received a call from my Midwife saying I have a appointment next Tuesday to meet endocrinologist. She says my TPO was high but she didn't mention the range. I called again to ask for the range but she said the doctor didn't mention the range and doctor just told its slightly on higher range. I am bit worried, my appointment is on next week only. will it be OK? or should i ask for immediate appointment? Midwife says doctor will see and come up with the plan.
Thanks

If you have high antibodies, going gluten-free can help reduce them. They attack your thyroid gland and wax and wane until you are hypothyroid. When we have thyroid antibodies we have an Autoimmune Thyroid Disease, called Hashimoto's but treatment is the same as hypothyroidism.
Hi luv2017. Try not to worry too much about this. If you are already on thyroid medication, then it may need to be adjusted. If not, then you may need to start it. My understanding of normal range in pregnancy, is 0.1-2.5 with an increase of 0.2-3.0 during the second trimester. Hope it is soon sorted out for you. Diane
