Hemithyroidectomy 8 weeks ago TSH 2.7

Hi. I had a hemithyroidectomy 8 weeks ago. Luckily benign nodule. Had TSH measured 7 weeks post op. It was 2.66. Feel lightheaded if I’m walking or have overdone it earlier in the day and just don’t feel quite right. Experienced PMS for first time too. Bit emotional. TSH before op was 1.45. GP says thyroid fine as within normal range.

Is it to early to ask to see an endo?

Help.

You need more than your TSH tested - as explained to you by SlowDragon in an earlier post of yours. Understandably it is a worrying time for you so it would be good to focus on optomizing your vitamins and minerals and having the correct tests done.

If you cannot find your earlier post - let me know. 😊

Thanks. Found it really hard to get GP to listen but she has at least agreed to do another TSH and a T4 (which they didn’t do last time) in a couple of weeks but pretty sure she won’t prescribe anything as “going by the book”.

Are you in a posituon to have tests done privately ? SlowDragon gave you the links and information in her Reply to you 22 days ago. That way you will have the FULL story and fight your corner in a more informed way. When you have the results create a new post and people will comment. Do you have Hashimotos ?

Doubt that can happen. Go to the link SlowDragon gave you to go on to the main website of Thyroid UK for all the testing companies.

You're welcome. How did you get on with your phone call to your GP ?

You need to ask GP to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 plus thyroid antibodies

When thyroid TSH and FT4 are tested make sure to get tested as early as possible in morning and fasting to get highest TSH result and lowest FT4

GP may agree to do vitamins and antibodies

If not then private testing is next option

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin

medichecks.com/thyroid-func...

Or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven

GP may run some of these tests

Any they can't or won't do you need to order online to test privately

Come back with new post once you get results and ranges from GP members can advise on next steps and what else still needs testing
