It takes 6 weeks for any dose change to be fully effective so you have a while to wait until you feel any benefit from your increase. Although you're on holiday, it might be a good idea to not do too much walking if you're in pain.

How much D3 are you taking? What was your level when you started supplementing and what is your level now? Are you taking D3's important cofactors - K2-MK7 and magnesium?

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.

Magnesium helps D3 to work and comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds

Check out the other cofactors too.

NDT is Natural Desiccated Thyroid made from pig's thyroid gland and tableted with fillers. It was the original hormone replacement for hypothyroidism before synthetic Levothyroxine was introduced in the 1960s. NDT contains T4 and T3 whereas Levothyroxine is purely T4. T4 is the active hormone and has to convert to some T3 (every cell in the body requires T3). Some people don't convert very well and NDT can be useful then due to it containing some T3.

If you're in the UK you have practically no chance of being prescribed NDT, it is unlicensed and a doctor would have to take personal responsibility for prescribing it and that's not likely to happen.

However, you may do well on Levo if all the building blocks are in place. Vitamins and minerals need to be optimal so that Levo can work properly, if you have autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's, where antibodies are high, this needs addressing. There's no information in your profile or your opening post but if you post all your results, with their reference ranges, we can try and help you. What we need to see -

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

If you haven't had them done, ask your GP or do them with a private fingerprick blood test at home (venous blood draw option available) from one of our recommended labs

I think you might mean

FT4 - 15

TSH - 2.6

TSH is fairly easy to interpret because the reference ranges are very similar, but FT4 we need the reference range from the lab that did your test as they vary from lab to lab.

For a treated hypo patient generally TSH is best around 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges, if that is where you feel well.. So your TSH shows that you are undermedicated.

You mentioned that you take a D3 supplement. How much do you take, what is your current Vit D level and do you take the important of actor's I me toned above? It is very important to know your level and take only what you need as excess Vit D gets stored and can reach toxicity level.

If you can't get those other tests done with your GP then it's recommended to get them tested privately as previously mentioned.
