Too much T3!

can anybody advise please. I am on NatureThyroid and thyroid has been normal for about 2 years. yearly test showed thyroid underactive and dosage put up to

2.25 grains NT 3 months ago, but recent test last week showed TSH normal but I have too much T3!

How long did you leave between last NDT dose and blood draw?

Sorry for delay. Tks for replying.

Tsh 3.53 .norm 0.35/4.95. free T3 6.9.. norm 2.63/5.70. I have just cutdown nature throid dose now to 2 grains from 2.25 grains. On the day of the blood test I took meds at 9 am and test was at. 1 pm.

Any advice welcome. Do you know what else could raise T3 levels plse? Best wishes. S

You are undermedicated to have TSH 3.53. You need to raise NatureThroid dose, not reduce it. Most people taking NDT will be optimally dosed when FT3 is 4.65 - 5.70 and TSH is 0.35 - 1.0 or lower.

FT3 is high because you took NatureThroid before your test and the T3 in NDT was peaking in your blood. You should leave 8-12 hours between last dose and blood draw.
