Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. My test results showed TSH above normal range at 5.02 but my T4 was within normal range at 12.4 !

Just spoke with a GP who has explained that the TSH is high meaning its having to work harder. So my T4 is not out of range but this may be due to the fact that for some reason the TSH message sent from the brain is having to work harder.

I’ve also just had bloods taken for my thyroid antibodies & also T3.

GP previously prescribed levothyroxine and asked that it is introduced slowly at 25mgs.

So are you still on 25mcgs Levothyroxine?

If already on Levothyroxine then TSH should be much lower and FT4 towards top of range

NICE guidelines saying how to initiate and increase. Note that most patients eventually need somewhere between 100mcg and 200mcg Levothyroxine

(Many of us need TSH nearer 0.2 than 2.0 to feel well)

Yes I’m still on 25mgs and I was placed on Levothyroxine after the blood test results came back on the 7th so only a few days. Today I had my T3 tested and thyroid antibodies. I get the results tomorrow.
