Hi everyone

Not been feeling to great recently so had a private blood test.

What is a t3 assay? The range is 1.3-3.1 my level 1.6.

Is this a useful idea test or do I need free t3?

Thanks

Based on the numeric range, I'd guess that was Total T3. Do you have the actual units? Which laboratory?

Well, for one BUPA hospital I found this lab handbook:

bupacromwellhospital.com/ea...

It includes FT3 as an option. (Amazingly enough, it also includes Reverse T3.) Check whether there is a similar document for the one you used.

I once had a private medical with BUPA and the doctor who took the blood sample said that she was only going to test tsh and it was a waste fo time. Thanks, BUPA. Obviously no benefit at all.

Hi

Thats terrible! Unfortunately it is all just luck of what dr you get. Which is so bad . We should all be getting the best care. Especially when we pay for it!
