I just sent for my full thyroid from medichecks. I went over an old test back in 2015 a FREE T3 only done privately.
Never diagnosed with thyroid issues NHS keep saying all is normal. What can FREE T3 be with?
Is this auto immune or just T3 hormone issues?
My result back then said my result was 'insufficient' on FREE T3 the Normal Range was 3.1 to 6.8 County Pathology Ltd. I have no clue how I ever missed this test

Eurofins took over the other company so I sent them an email today asking what issuficient meant if blood was not enough or it is T3 'insufficient' maybe it was so low. I got thyroid test today I may do tommorow am & ask next day delivery Royal Mail they close 3 pm saturday medichecks
I found a sample done 2023, I still need to send off my medichecks thyroid test.
2023 results were TSH 1.79 range 0.27-4.20 Free T4 17.3 range 12.0-22.0 Free T3 was 5.16 range 3.1-6.8 pharmacy Goodbody blood test.
The medichecks one will be iron Vitamin D3 TSH FREE T3 REVERSE T3 & T4 & T4 Full with Thyroid Antibodies tests.
I am now on 40mg prednisone with 1500mg amoxicillin plus blue grey inhaler one week finish today, so I want to wait on medichecks blood draw mailing. I cannot fight infections chest/mucus/pneumonias
Once I had reported online other results someone thought I was Anemic in a private test. So many types of anemias?
I am going for a Spectometry breathing test July 1st for possible Alpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency genetics/type COPD, thanks
That means insufficient blood to complete the test
Request new test kit for TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 testing together
Retesting just Ft3 is useless
Did you also test thyroid antibodies, vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Are you diagnosed as hypothyroid and on replacement thyroid hormone?
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Yesterday I was told on Facebook 'insufficent' meant hypothyroid. Getting mixed answers now but thought this was what it meant not enough blood sent. I did the antibodies tests ordered from medichecks & all the thyroid tests so wait not on sample to arrive here to send back. I have also an enlarged kidney so now also looking into Vascular compressions. Thanks SW
