I've been strictly gluten free for about a month. I then slipped up and ate a product with Gluten in it a day later my mood has dropped and I feel very tearful. Could that be the gluten? Nothing else has changed.

Gluten and mood
Definitely! And the headaches to go with it, the painful joints, the bloating and the low mood. As explained in the Docu-series the Broken Brain, this inflammatory response crosses the blood brain barrier and causes brain inflammation which causes depression! It's very Insidious.
You can only do your best.
Drink plenty of water to help flush out the toxins. I make myself a licorice tea on a pot with loads of crushed fresh ginger which is an anti-inflammatory. I find it helps.
Take care.

Thankyou! I hate liquorice but will get on with the ginger and water. Tummy problems yes and recurring fatigue yes but I never thought about my mood for the gluten. 😑
Unbelievable isn't it!!! Same here.
If you don't like liquorice, use a vanilla, as long as you can out lots of lovely ginger with it!
Probiotic Kefir to help heal your challenged gut biome would be a bonus too😄
Any questions just ask.

Thank you for posting Poppy.
I'll take a look at the Docu series, as I've never heard of it. It's sounds very interesting.
Do a search on The Broken Brain by the fantastic American Dr Mark Human. You will be astounded at what you learn!

I will thanks !
Hi Poppy. Was REALLY onmy way to shower and bed and got sidetracked. Found your post. Dr Mark Hyman is one of my favorite resources. I've read his site for quite a while. <marksdaily apple.com> Our PBS station (Public tv) was fundraising this pas weekand Dr Hyman was on with a great presenntation about knowing what to eat. Even though I try to keep up I often get to the store and get confused about what I should buy. His program was simple-called "What the heck should I eat?" Made it simple and inexpensive. Long story short. In the store as you're deciding on an item ask yourself one question. Is is nature made? Buy it, eat it,and enjoy. If it's man-made. leave it in the store. For an interesting informative nutrition source give his website a look. Lots of good info made simple. drmarkhyman.com. NOW I'm going to bed!LOL irina1975 excuse typos-sleepy! Think I'm ready to give up my Ezekiel bread. Tired of aches and pains.
Poppy the cat is bang on.
I too suffered dreadful symptoms for days after eating a Chinese takeaway. That's even after having spoken to the guy about gluten free & there was no language barrier either. So was reassured. But never again!
Gluten free is great I feel so much better for it.
Yeah me too so many symptoms I thought was my thyroid were clearing up. Hopefully just need to get it out if my system.
