Hi I had half of goiter removed over 25 years ago . I had blood tests done last week and have to repeat in y weeks anyone know why this would be x

It could be as simple as the specimen was haemolised and they were unable to process it or that one marker is either below or above range by a smallish amount and they want to retest to see if it has come back into normal range. You could ask for your results then post them on here for comments.

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies. Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Essential to test FT3 plus vitamins if you feel unwell, but apparently normal TSH and FT4

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

I had bloods for bit d b12 kidney liver etc all came back fine except thyroid
