T3Mary,
Nothing. Check what you're eating to cause bloating. Keeping a food diary may help. Eliminate the offending food for 2-3 weeks to see whether symptoms improve and then return when you resume eating the food.
T3Mary. If you are not on a combination dose of T3/T4 I believe you should be as you've had a TT. You may also not be on a sufficient dose to raise your metabolism which is most probably the cause of bloating. This is a previous post.
Many don't gain weight if they are good converters of T4 to T3. Or if the doctor adds some T3 to T4. Hypothyroid slows everything down, heart rate, metabolism etc. until on an optimum dose which makes us feel well.
is your thyroid correctly treated? If you had total thyroidectomy then are you on addition of small dose of T3
If under treated we tend to get low stomach acid and gluten or dairy can be a problem
Many find strictly gluten free diet helps or is essential
If you post your most recent results and ranges for TSH, FT3, FT4 plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Hi Slow Dragon
Thank You for getting back to me
My blood test are needing done again . I suspect I need to up T3
I’ve got a doctors appointment next week I try to manage my own meds I’ve lost faith in medical services as far as Thyroid management they tend to know less than the knowledge a can get online at sites like Health unlocked
Have you tried strictly gluten free diet?
No I keep putting it aside I love my bread & potatoes I don’t overeat and have healthy diet I cook from fresh everyday
It's not to do with how healthy the food is
If you have leaky gut (common with thyroid issues) then gluten can cross from gut into blood stream
Perhaps trying for 3-6 months, if it improves symptoms then you may find you prefer feeling better
It does need to be strictly gluten free.

Hi T 3 mary. I stopped gluton and had such an improvement with bloat and wind. Do miss my toast but what a difference it mad. Wont go back to it
Dont buy any gf food just eat fresh veg meat fruit nuts
Worth it
I dont have hashi as far as I know
M&S do excellent GF bread, makes good toast.
Hi Gcart I know it’s the way to go I have been putting it off the food I’d have to give up ! such a creature of habit you’ve gave me more thoughts of moving towards giving up gluten
Thank You so much
I never thought that I could manage it. But there's so many alternatives these days
Never had any gut symptoms either
But the difference was so astonishing, and subsequent endoscopy confirmed gluten intolerant and definitely need to be off it. (Negative coeliac test twice)
Watch for hidden gluten where you least expect it. Read all labels. Anything with rye, barley or wheat has gluten in. Watch out for soy sauce, picked, beers, ketchup etc
Sainsbury's marmite equivalent in gluten free
Also watch for cross contamination in butter, jam, cutting board, toaster (need a separate one really)
There's lots of alternative flour for making sauces etc - tapioca flour makes good gloopy sauce
Tricky eating at friends and family. Eating out increasingly easy
How about sweet potatoes. I do eat potatoes seem to be ok .
Maybe others will add to this
Good luck.
I use arrow root to thicken anything , gravy, sauces if I make them
Thank you yhickfoe
