Please help me understand this

My doctor tells me there’s nothing to worry about and to have a repeat test in a couple of months

But after my results and telling me I needed to see my doctor I’ve done nothing but worry and now I feel less motivated in anything

My doctor didn’t really explain it very well and I left the room saying everything’s ok but it’s not!

Your TSH is only just below range. You need FT4 and FT3 tested to find out more

Low TSH (assuming you are not taking Levothyroxine) means you may be mildly hyperthyroid

Also need to test thyroid antibodies and vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

Can you edit to add ranges

Eg FT3 4.6 (2.0-6.5)

Ok so

FT3 4.6 pmol/L (3.5-6.5)

T4 16.3 pmol/L (10.0 - 20.)

TSH 0.47mu/L (0.5-4.4)

HeathyXx,

TSH is very mildly below range but FT4 and FT3 are unequivocally euthyroid (normal) so there is absolutely nothing to be worried about. GP just wants to check whether TSH drops further in case you are becoming hyperthyroid. Nothing in your current results suggests that is a likelihood.
