Please help. I had TT last August and I just found out yesterday that I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am currently taking hormones suppliments.

Hi I had total thyroidectomy last August. Since then my endo prescribed me to take T4 100mcg per day, and T3 25mcg per day. With this the results of my blood tests always showed my T4 and T3 both in the upper normal range, and my TSH is

0.01.

Yesterday I found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant and now I'm worried for my baby.

What are the important things I should do and not do?

I take T3 and T4 pills every 5am in the morning. If I will do a blood test should I not take T4 and T3 pills that morning for accurate results?

Take your T4 and T3 after your blood test.

The TSH of women newly pregnant should be in the low-normal range 0.4 - 2.5 but don't worry that your TSH is lower, it is high TSH which is problematic. When pregnancy is confirmed dose is usually increased by 25-50mcg to ensure good foetal development but your TSH is low and you've said FT4 is in the upper range so you shouldn't need to increase dose unless TSH has risen >2.5. The serum TSH reference range in pregnancy is 0·4–2·5 mU/l in the first trimester and 0·4–3·0 mU/l in the second and third trimesters or should be based on the trimester-specific reference range for the population if available. These reference ranges should be achieved where possible with appropriate doses of L-T4 preconception and most importantly in the first trimester (1/++0). L-T4/L-T3 combination therapy is not recommended in pregnancy (1/+00).

Regarding what you are saying, should I be concerned with my TSH level?

Considering that I had total thyroidectomy, since then my TSH has always been way below normal range. When I don't take T3 pills my T3 stays at lower normal range, and my TSH ranges from 0.3-0.5. However, I feel way better when I take my T3 meds 25mcg per day, this puts my T3 results in higher normal range, and it drops my TSH to 0.01. I have less trust in endos here in our place because sale of T3 is not permitted in our country, and the endos are not familiar enough with prescribing T3 meds. Please help me.
