I've been struggling with depression and weight gain dur to my thyroid and looking to see this doctor.
Can anyone PM me with their feedback please? I've not been having much luck with my doctor and then after convincing him to refer me to a specialist via the NHS, I'm not rating the specialist either.
I'm now going via private helthcare to try and see someone who actually cares.
Thank you

Can you add your most recent Thyroid test results and ranges plus if you have high thyroid antibodies. This would give diagnosis of cause as autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto's
Important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too
GP's often under medicate, leaving us still hypo
How much Levo are you currently prescribed?
TSH should be between 0.2 and 2.0. Most patients need TSH under 1.0 to feel well
Low vitamins are extremely common
Are you on any supplements or diagnosed with any vitamin deficiencies?
For full evaluation you ideally need TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, TPO and TG antibodies, plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested
Essential to test antibodies and vitamins
See if you can get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP. Unlikely to get FT3
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
