Just a rant here but why hasn't someone come out with a home finger prick test that we can do for thyroid issues so we can quickly and easily test our numbers? Something like for diabetic folks.
I've gotten to the point to which going to the lab is making me cringe in horror! Sometimes they cannot even find a vein and go digging. Like the disease isn't hideous enough

Drink plenty of fluids a couple of days prior to your venous blood test and brisk walk for 20 minutes prior to blood draw and keep warm and veins may be more visible.
You can get home test thyroid kits. You have to stab your finger and 'milk' the blood into a microtainer or two. thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...
I agree, I self test my inr and it gives immediate results. Perhaps in time a fingerprick thyroid test that you do at home and that gives you an immediate result will be developed. Here's hoping.
I test my blood glucose ten times a day to allow me to inject the exact units of insulin I require for my type I diabetes keeping me feeling well.
Yet I have to just swallow pills everyday hoping that my levels and pills correspond correctly enough not to make me ill - so much harder than injecting!
It seems likely that such testing will become available, but issues such as cost, accuracy/reproducibility, and so on could well mean it keeps disappearing into the future.
