For the last two years I’ve had Hypothyroidism and Hashimotos and I am on medication.
I just recently got my blood work back and am very concerned with the results 😨
Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Have you recently had brand change of Levothyroxine or started any other new medication or change in diet?
How much Levothyroxine are you currently on? Your results suggest you need 25mcg dose increase and retesting in 6-8 weeks.
Good idea to check vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels too. These are often too low, especially when under medicated
As you have Hashimoto's are you on strictly gluten free diet?
Mollyhagen,
You are undermedicated and need a dose increase. Dose increases are usually in 25-50mcg increments every 6 weeks so you will probably need further increases.
The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.2 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
