HI All

i am a 34 year old mother of 1 who for the last 20 years has had problems with feeling tired, achy, metal taste in my mouth, headaches and more since the birth of my daughter its worse! My cortisol levels were done and the first was taken at 9am and was 260 so it was repeated a week ago and now its 183 could this mean addisons ?

Presumably you are on Levothyroxine?

Can you post your thyroid results and if you have raised Thyroid antibodies. (Hashimoto's)

Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 results

Inadequate treatment for hypothyroid, especially if it's due to Hashimoto's, can seriously exhaust adrenals

If cortisol is low the next step is a short synathin test - ACTH test

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACT...

Usually with thyroid disease its adrenal exhaustion not Addison's. Obviously Addisons is extremely serious, must have full testing

Dr Lam website offers plenty of info on adrenal fatigue

Hello

My vitamin D was low at 19 and they have placed me back on those supplements for that as they took me off them a year ago and now its gone back down. The rest they say is 'normal' i couldn't tell you what the results were on those i'm afraid.

Before my daughter i was very active and i ran marathons now i can barely walk up some stairs! I have started to keep a disry of how i am feeling and my aches and pains.

The Dr is referring me to endocrine, so i guess ill have to wait to see them i was just wondering if those results were low

thanks

Likely you have Hashimoto's, insist GP test antibodies

If you do then strictly gluten free diet helps majority

If you want to read about the various ways in which the medical profession tests cortisol and tests for Addison's Disease , then this link should be helpful :

Open the link and search for "cortisol" and also "addison's".
