Endo visit feeling more confused

So had my endo visit and with ft4 and ft3 on the floor she has decreased my t3 from 20 to 15 because my tsh is suppressed. How can I be overactive if my frees are rock bottom

I don't understand why my tsh is suppressed with low ft4 and ft3.

So afraid I am going to slip back noe on lowered dose!!

Advise please paying big money and traveling four hours to see this endo.

Your results showed you needed an increase, not a decrease

Time to self medicate perhaps

Very disappointing, travelling and paying wads of money.

Should I increase t4 or t3

I would add more Levo initially. Perhaps 12.5mcg (100/125 alternate days)

Ideally retest after 6 weeks before increasing same again

Have you ever had RT3 tested?

Feeling really fed up 13 months post thyroidectomy and trying to get proper treatment.

It was for low grade cancer, I also had Lyme disease which I believe makes us poor converters!!

My free ,t4 t3 are very low yet a decrease in meds.

Are you in the UK

My Lyme is under control. Didn't need rai thankfully having a hard time in levo though addition of t3 is helping but reduce dose will make me sick again frustrating.

Change your Endo! First thing mine said to me when I started on NDT is that any form of T3 changes the way we look at your results! TSH should be suppressed or even zero, FT4 can drop to a lower point but FT3 should be high in its range but never over. When our body is getting enough T3 then it isn't necessary to hang onto a lot of FT4 so it drops. It does mean though we can no longer compare FT4 and FT3 to check on conversion as the only accurate reading will now be FT3.

Unfortunately this endo is the best in Ireland have tried a few🙁

You can't be. Endo is ignorant as they are not trained to understand T3 treatment and blood test ranges were devised for levo only treatment. Ignore endo and self medicate or try an endo from the TUK list
