Puzzled and Unhappy Query

Hi Shaws, Please can you explain why you have told me that you have closed my post so soon, as I did not mention any names of companies, and I have seen other posts that asked for where to get T3? Specially as when I contacted your office this morning for the same information, I was told to put a post on here by one of your colleagues. I was also hoping to get some support from forum members, on my cortisol issue. I thought that was the whole purpose of this forum to support one another in our desperate plight. I am really not happy about this, I am sorry to say. As I mentioned in my email to your office this morning, I am visually impaired and it takes a lot of effort for me to navigate on the website and yet I was still told to put my post on the forum, only for it to be removed in no time at all as you have done for reasons that are not clear to me.

If I do not get support on here, where else will I get support for my thyroid adrenal issues?

Thanks, Lindygiles

lindygiles please don't be concerned. Your post has not been removed, it's been diverted so that people can only private message you with the information you requested. It's standard practice on this forum because people can only send private messages of names of companies that supply T3 as they can''t post the names of the companies on the forum wall. You asked for information on how to get T3 and so people will have to send you names of companies. They cannot do this on the open forum as it's against forum regulations. Sometimes the admins don't see posts for a while but you posted yours at peak time for the UK so it was picked up immediately. It's for your protection and the protection of people who respond to you that your post has been, closed, and only private messages will reach you. Do you know how to navigate to your private messages? If not, ask someone to explain. It is all a bit confusing for all of us when we first post on the forum.

If you want information on general thyroid concerns then create a separate post that doesn't ask for information on getting prescription medicines and people will be able to respond to you on the open forum.

I would add that I do not think Shaws has an office .It is my understanding that Shaws is just another member of the forum who has been asked ,along with others,by Health Unlocked to help administer the forum according to its rules.

You are correct Treepie Shaws and the other Admin are volunteers who moderate the forum, they are not employees of Thyroid UK.

If you look across the top of today's threads you will be a picture of you on the right, on the left of that you will see a bell which when coloured shows you have a 'like' orca reply on the open forum and then on the left of that, so actually in the middle you will see two speech bubbles and that it how you access any private messages and shows that the message is between you and another so no one else can access that message, nortcecrn the admins.

Not giving this information out is standard practice on all Thyroid forums as we don't want a witch hunt by anyone wanting to pursue these firms or try to shut them down, yes it can happen. It works well but can take a bit of getting used to.

How are you visually impaired? Do you have a IBM speaker mode attached to your PC?

If you cannot see the menu bar easily and do not have screen reader software that can navigate it for you, you can just enter healthunlocked/messsages into the browser address bar to read your messages. I don't think HU is stellar on accessibility
