Heavy periods are listed but could also be related to iron problems. Bone pain could be low Vit D. Best get nutrients tested - Vit D, B12, Folate, Ferritin.
Hi susie, not sure what has been tested. Bone pain has been worse with cold and damp weather
Ask at your surgery for a print out of your test results. You are legally entitled to them under the Data Protection Act if you are in the UK.
Karaj,
Both can be underactive symptoms. Heavy periods are often due to iron or ferritin deficiency too and bone and joint pain are often due to vitamin D deficiency.
If you've had thyroid blood tests, iron, ferritin, vitamin D and full blood count tests post the results and ranges in a new post and members will advise.
I only know thyroid ones sorry,
Karaj,
What are they? If you've had other things tested ask your GP receptionist to print you off the results and ranges.
TSH 4.80 (0.2 - 4.2)
FT4 14.7 (12 - 22)
FT3 3.2 (3.1 - 6.8)
Taking 100mcg levo diagnosed in 2011 thanks, vits tested but no idea what they are
Karaj,
You are undermedicated to have TSH 4.80. Ask your GP to increase dose. While you're at the practice ask your GP receptionist to print off your vitamin results and ranges.
The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.3 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
