My pharmacist maintained these tablets are the same brand. Yes I know they are both manufactured by mercury pharma, but surely they arenāt the same -bar being 100mg and 25mg? šhands up if Iām wrong
Quandary- are both these tablets the sameš§ - Thyroid UK
Quandary- are both these tablets the sameš§
yes - I have same issue
I used to take Eltroxin mage by Goldshield which was the "best" for me
Then Mercury Pharma took over and stopped producing Eltroxin and only made Levothyroxine. So have had MP Levo for last 10 plus years
My prescriptions say Mercury Pharma only.
Last prescription I got was Eltroxin by Mercury Pharma. So technically I wasn't able to refuse it. But I don't want to try it unless I have to
Just FINALLY got really well.
This post says same thing and others have reacted to Eltroxin compared to MP levo
Suin and SlowDragon .
Concordia say Mercury Pharma and Eltroxin brands are the same.
See concordiarxinternational.co...
That is out of date - it is even clearer now - the Patient Information Leaflets are the same documents!
They changed the markings on the tablets (now LT 25, LT 50 and LT 100) - on both Eltroxin and Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine at the same time.
I think I also read that they were changing the colour of the foil on their blister packs.
Suin
The proportion of excipients to active ingredient is very likely different. I don't think the 100 tablet is four times the size of the 25 tablet. Who knows what difference that might make even if Eltroxin and Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine are absolutely 100% identical?
