Thank you! I had hyper, took the iodine to have it destroyed I'm on 200 synthroid, have had 3 miscarriages. This will be my last as I'm 42 now.
I am so sorry you have had three miscarriages. It is more than disappointing when you desperately want to be pregnant and will always wonder if you had been treated properly whether you'd have been able to have a safe pregnancy.
There is still a chance of Pregnancy if you are given sufficient dose of thyroid hormones to bring TSH down to 1 or lower with a Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper part of the range.
Momma928923,
High TSH significantly increases your chances of miscarriage so hopefully the rise to 200mcg will protect you. The baby will have developed its own thyroid by 12 weeks so it's development should be unaffected.
Management of primary hypothyroidism: statement by the British Thyroid Association Executive Committee
13. The serum TSH reference range in pregnancy is 0·4–2·5 mU/l in the first trimester and 0·4–3·0 mU/l in the second and third trimesters or should be based on the trimester-specific reference range for the population if available. These reference ranges should be achieved where possible with appropriate doses of L-T4 preconception and most importantly in the first trimester (1/++0). L-T4/L-T3 combination therapy is not recommended in pregnancy (1/+00).

According the ATA First Trimester TSH levels between 2.5 and 5.0 are associated with increased pregnancy loss
Momma ~ please don't worry too much ~ stress brings it's own problems! As clutter says, the baby now is equipped with his/her own thyroid and you have passed the 12 week stage. For your interest, halfway through my last pregnancy, (20 years ago) my TSH was 15.4 ~ this was AFTER an increase in thyroxine so what it was before, I don't know ~ can't seem to get that info from medical notes ~ what a surprise! Anyway, that baby is now a fully grown, kind and lovely girl ~ not a thing wrong with her. I lost other pregnancies with a much lower TSH ~ so I don't think you can second guess this.
I think babies take what they need from you whenever they can ~ my second child (1st daughter) managed to be 9lb 2oz and I never kept a thing down for the ENTIRE pregnancy with hyperemesis gravidarum ~ I LOST 1 1/2 stone whilst pregnant! She now has 3 children of her own and is also fine.
Maybe baby has drained you somewhat and now your TSH has rocketed ~ who knows? No point in worrying ~ all is well so far so healthy food, light exercise and plenty of restful sleep is all you can do for now.
Good luck and warmest wishes Mamapea xx
