Decolourised iodine
Highly unlikely and if you have Hashimoto's avoid iodine
Thank you for your reply. It’s just that my podiatrist said it would be good so I thought I would try it.
Hi Valjene, Back in the day, people would soak in epsom salts which is magnesium. Now there are magnesium sprays people use for increasing magnesium levels. I wonder if it could help, I'm sure it wouldn't harm. Also, B6 might be good if you think it's a circulation problem.
ValJene,
There is not one single paper indexed on PubMed which refers to both chilblain and iodine.

Of course, not proof that the iodine isn't effective, but certainly doesn't offer any support.
Since when did podiatrists deal with fingers?
Many thanks
Depends what is causing these chilblains. Iodine is an antiseptic, so it would help if they were infected, but I can't see it helping otherwise. My son had chilblains on his toes when he was little. Nothing the doctor gave him helped. I gave his horse chestnut and red vine tablets, which are known to help with poor circulation, and his chilblains went away.
