Mich87,

Yes, 0.22 is good. I hope you're successful soon.

Thank you. Do u think being on This dose 0.22 will be maintained or will it just keep knocking me lower and lower I'm a bit afraid of that

Mich87,

If it's 4 weeks since you increased dose 0.22 is probably as low as it's likely to go. No need to be afraid if it does go a bit lower though, it won't hurt you.

4 weeks ago I was 3.1 then they upped my dose and fast forward 4 weeks I'm now 0.22 so I'm worried does that mean fast forward another 4 weeks I'll keep dropping.

I do have hashinkto so hopefully 0.22 is what I'll stay and it will be consistent

I've never been this low so it's all new to me

Mich87,

It's unlikely TSH will continue dropping on your current dose but it doesn't matter at all if it does as long as FT4 and FT3 remain within range.

But if I go lower won't I get Graves' disease!? And that's not good for trying to conceive either?

Hi Mich87.

Graves is an autoimmune disease, which causes a hyperactive thyroid - it isn’t the case that having over-the-range thyroid levels with associated low TSH causes Graves.

Your thyroid levels are more important than the TSH - if they end up over range as the result of thyroid replacement, reducing the medication should bring them into line.

My t4 is 21

You need someone with experience of Hashi’s to respond on that. I know it can cause ‘flares’ of excess thyroid, but don’t know enough to say whether this looks like a flare, over-medication, or simply the thyroid meds needing a chance to settle. Actually, you haven’t given the ranges, and I can’t remember them offhand, but I think 21 is high end of normal range rather than over on the range used by my lab

I know you’re really keen to get this sorted quickly, but unfortunately, it often takes a while to get doses of thyroid-related medication optimised.

I guess I'm just happy to finally be below one and I've found a endo who is aggressive with her meds unlike my last dr who undermediacted me and I went from 15 to 5 to 2.5 to 0.33 to 59!! To 3.1

Wowsa what a journey and many infertility and miscarriages

Hopefully 0.22 will get me and keep me pregnant

Just out of interest how did you go from .3 to 59

Mich87 profile image
Mich87 in reply toHypo88

My dr ( or endo) thought I was getting too low so she massively reduced my daily medication and during this time I fell pregnant and it spiked and i lost the baby
