Anyone get messed up after NatureThroid production was down?

I was finally stable on 2.5 grains of NatureThroid and then their production went down and I could not get it for 3 months or so. I tried switching to Armour and that did not work for me. The anxiety and dizziness was awful. I then went to a Synthroid/Cytomel combination and that too did not work for me. The smallest amount of Cytomel made me act as if I was bipolar. I limped along on 100 mcg. of Synthroid until I could get back on NatureThroid. I am now back on NatureThroid, but had to start on 1 grain and have been working my way up. I will attemp 2 grains tomorrow. I have all the old hypothyroidism symptoms...mainly shaking, emotional, lots of crying, and insomnia.

I was on generic Synthroid for several years until it didn’t work anymore 3 years ago. It took me 3 years to find a doctor that would work with me and I finally hit a sweet spot.

I just wondered if anyone else was effected my the lack of getting NatureThroid. Ugh! This is awful! I want my life back and it feels like forever at this point.

Thanks for the encouragement. I upped my dose to 2 grains this morning. I just hate the anxiety I feel on the lower dose and I think I cause myself anxiety because I know where I need to be and can’t get there fast enough. I am afraid to raise it more than 1/4 a grain about every 7-10 day’s. I now know what it feels like to feel good, so the waiting is driving me crazy.

I hope you did not translate 2.5 grains of Nature Throid to 2.5 grains Armour. That is a colossal dose of Armour and will cause anxiety and dizziness and a lot of other things. I take Armour, I have to make sure I don't exceed 1.5 grains and I do not have any thyroid after a thyroidectomy.

The other point is that it is hard to switch around with different brands and doses with high frequency. I had that problem when Forest Pharma stopped manufacturing their Levo, it was a 2 year nightmare but I finally got there. Give yourself a little more time for each brand and dose. It's an awful position to be in since each dose/brand change needs a couple of months to evaluate.

This may not be your problem but when I took too much Armour my blood pressure (BP) would go sky high and cause a frenzied anxious feeling together with dizziness. You might want to measure your BP along with your experiments of brand/dose.

I am back on NatureThroid, but really struggling. I am so emotional. I had to start back at 1 grain of NatureThroid and am working my way back up to 2 1/2 grains. I just started 2 grains yesterday. I can’t stand myself right now because I feel so awful and my moods are horrible. I guess it is just going to take me a while to level back out. In the meantime, my adrenals got whacked out as well.

I am sure I am very undermedicated and definitely not stable right now.

Oh Geez, I wish that companies would not change production quantities, formulae or just go out of business like this, it throws us into turmoil and it just isn't fair. Keep working on it Trina, eventually you will hit your critical dose.

Thanks LAHs! It is frustrating. Since my main hypo system is depression and moodiness, it is not fun for everyone around me too. I will get there, but of course not as fast as I would like!
