Sudden cough coming from thyroid area

For the past mouth I’ve had what started off as what we thought was a common cold, but over the time I’ve had it it’s continued to worsen. Some of the symtoms I’ve had are: swollen glands, sore throat/hoarseness, loss of voice, pain in my neck, fatigue, sudden sharp pain behind my ears, dry throat, and now a cough that seems to be coming from my lower neck/ thyroid area. I’ve been to the doctor plenty of times and have gotten a swab for strep (which was negative) and multiple blood tests for mononucleosis (which are all negative) I’ve tried different types of antibiotics, freezing throat sprays and at one point some steroids, but nothing has gotten rid of my symptoms! I’m scheduled to have a ear, nose and throat specialist put a camera down my throat to look at my thyroid and larynx but I’m desperate to know what’s wrong with me! Any help would be great! Thanks.

Hi iheartcats, this is a stumper. The only thing I can think of and it could be way off but.....your vagus nerve has a lot to do with all those symptoms. I've posted a few things about the vagus nerve and the brain is very involved when we are hypothyroid as well. If you are hypo, are your levels optimal at the moment? Do you have antibodies?
