hello,

I saw Dr Marek yesterday and he basically asked me to go on a lectin free diet as its affecting my hormonal imbalance and vitamin deficiencies and therefore my adrenals and thyroid.

Has anybody followed a lectin free diet and did it help you to lose weight?

Wanderlust,

There is thought that lectins can cause inflammation in some but I think it about moderation as lectins provide vitamins, minerals & antioxidants & if you are veggie, it can be hard to get enough dietary fiber.

If you have Hashi & gut issues, have you tried a gluten free diet to reduce inflammation ? ? …

I've just been reading Dr Mercola. I'm not a huge fan, but he is good at ferreting out interesting studies . He is quoting some research suggesting they are involved in autoimmune disease and inflammation, and cutting them out meant remission of symptoms for 90% of subjects.

I've been folowing a ketogenic diet for over a year now and feel fantastic. The only lectin foods left in my diet are tomatoes and ocasionally aubergine. I had tried removing tomato for a while but it didn't seem to make that much difference, but maybe I'll try for longer.
