I have been reading that gluten free is a better diet to follow when I'm hashi, I don't have a tolerance to gluten but is it still best to follow it.
Thank you

Jennymiddle,
There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies

Thank you I will take a look. I feel like I'm going a little crazy at the minute if I'm honest, it's a lot to take in from when the best time to take the tablet to what I can and can't eat. I take HRT so I'm reading I need to leave 12 hours in between my levothyroxine. I'm feeling a lot worse on them that I was a few days ago. I'm putting it down to been very anxious about it all. I feel sick very very tired and have no appetite at all. Do you know if this is normal. Sorry I seem a little crazy
There have been some previous posts about HRT. To be honest, from what I've read, HRT is not good; it's a load of chemicals and not real hormones.
Also I've recently stopped eating all grains. I read that grains are in fact a form of grass, then it added - we are not cows, so are unable to digest 'grass'. I have felt a lot better since stopping. I have also cut out all carbohydrates, but do eat a high fat diet.
