More test and nothing to do with thyroid

Well....I got a call from a Pulmonary office...seems the good Dr. thinks I have a sleep disorder? And referred me to have a sleep study done. She asked if I slept well and I said not really. After 2 back surgeries, mesh implant and many complications, ovarian cancer twice, chemo., a hysterectomy....my body looks like a road map! Then on top of that.... my thyroid being out of whack....I need to get at least a full 8 hours or more to feel human. I'm going to go gluten free and find a new Doc!! I think she only see's me as a money making machine for her practice. Not going to get anywhere with this one!! :(

Doc office called again! I had a Thyroid Ultrasound and now she want to run a scan that will take 2 days!! And mentioned aspiration? and a biopsy? To determine if they are hot or cold??? What the heck! I have an old ultrasound and the way I'm reading it the nodules shrunk? I'm sorry if I've over did my welcome but I just don't know what the heck this doctor is doing? She also wants to lower my Armour 15 grams! :'(

Sounds like she doesn't know what she's doing, either!

DARCY

Exam Date: 07/07/14

Thyroid ultrasound:

Thyroid nodule.

Technique: Realtime grayscale and limited color Doppler ultrasound imaging was obtained through the thyroid gland.

Findings:

Thyroid gland is normal in size measuring 5.0 x 2.0 x 1.8 cm on the right and 4.6 x 1.5 x 1.9 cm on the left.

The isthmus is mildly thickened measuring 0.8 cm.

Thyroid parenchyma is diffusely heterogeneous.

Peripherally calcified nodule in the upper pole left thyroid is stable measuring 1.6 x 1.2 cm (1.4 x 1.2 cm previously).

There may be an additional subtle peripherally calcified nodule in the inferior left lobe on today's exam, not discretely

visualized on the prior study, though probably present in retrospect.

No discrete right thyroid nodule is identified.

Surrounding soft tissues are grossly normal.

Impression:

Diffusely heterogeneous appearance of the thyroid gland is again compatible with sequela of thyroiditis.

Calcified nodule in the superior left thyroid is unchanged and there may be an additional calcified nodule in the lower pole on today's exam, probably stable when compared to the prior exam retrospectively.

Follow up is suggested in 6-12 months to ensure long-term stability.

EXAMINATION: THYROID SONOGRAM

HISTORY: Thyroid nodule

Comparison: July 2014

TECHNIQUE: Realtime grey scale and color imaging of the thyroid.

FINDINGS: The thyroid is normal in size.

The right lobe measures 4.5 x 1.7 x 2.0 cm and the left lobe measures 4.4 x 1.9 x 1.5 cm.

Diffuse heterogeneous echotexture of the thyroid.

The largest on the left measures 1.3 x 1.2 x 1.3, previously measuring 1.6 x 1.2 and is located in the superior lobe.

It is rim calcified with posterior acoustic shadowing degrading evaluation .

Inferior lobe left thyroid nodule measuring up to 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.8 cm with rim calcification.

IMPRESSION:

Similar appearing versus slightly decreased in size superior calcified nodule in the upper left thyroid and one centimeter rim calcified inferior lobe left thyroid nodule. Attention on follow-up exams.

? It makes NO sense to me? I thought since it said slightly decreased.....that was good news?
