I think I win the best Gp award!!!

I really don’t know how I’ve managed it but I’m sure my GP must be heaven sent!

Not only have they put up with my weekly trips, never told me I was in range with my tsh so I must be fine, happily agree to me self medicating with T3, test tsh, ft4 and ft3, send me to 3 different consultants to try and find out why I still feel ill but after my most recent trip with my little list of symptoms and despite my most recent serum B12 being 550ish it was suggested that I have B12 injections without the words “loading dose” even having to leave my mouth. Having tried everything else they think it’s worth ago. 1 down, 5 to go, fingers crossed 🤞 and if they help we will discuss what to do next apparently!

It just goes to show they aren’t all bad, well 1 in the practice is but I learnt to avoid him years ago. And I know I’m probably bragging now but we also have nice receptionists.

If Carlsberg made doctors 😂

Emyloulou,

That's refreshing. It's very depressing that more GPs aren't as proactive and helpful.

Well if Thyroid UK had a GP thyroid award it sounds like your GP would win hands down!!

I think they should start 1. If I knew how to tag people I’d have tagged Louise into the post x

To tag you use the @ symbol and start to type the username then you will find a dropdown list appears below where you are typing, you may need to scroll down the page to find it. Then select the name you want from the list and it willl be automatically added to the location you inserted the @ symbol.

I’m happy to share although if your postcode doesn’t start with WA it might be a bit of a trek 😂

Mine's also pretty good. He's not at all arrogant and admits if he doesn't know things. He puts up with me handing over articles at almost every visit. I know he reads them too, because he's mentioned some of them at subsequent visits. I must have seen around 10 different GPs about my thyroid alone and he's by far the best.
