I am a female 35 recently had a Full blood count

the reason is night sweats and feeling tired,I got a copy of my results ,So GP wanted to check Thyroid.

I would like some help as my GP has not contacted me but it looks like some highlighted issues marked with stars .I do have Minor Thalassemia trait genetic blood disorder found in Far East Asian .This can affect blood tests i am told .

I would be very grateful for some help on the result please.

I can only add 1 photo document but I want to download 3!! any help please

Hi,

Do you have any other results because none of those are thyroid bloods. It looks like all you’ve had is an fbc.

As far as these results are concerned, the star marked items are nothing to worry about. This is normal for a thalassemia carrier.

If you can't upload the other ones, I suggest you just type them in this post.

This may not be relevant but I get night sweats if I eat late. I normally have main meal at 6pm but never after 8pm. Late meals often trigger sweats for me. I am on T3 only and male so it may not be relevant but thought it worth saying. .

Couple of suggestions

Low B12 can cause night sweats. Ask GP to test B12 and folate.

Possibly also test for Pernicious Anaemia

Not sure if it is linked in any way to sickle cell anaemia

This suggests possibly

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/366...

Check Vitamin D. Most in UK have too low vitamin D, but especially if skin is darker
