I was on Levothyroxine T4 only for many years, T4 alone does not always kick start the T3,
I went onto NDT and to get the right amount of grains, I took my temperature every morning before I got out of bed (Superdrug cheap Thermometers) and wrote it down and then started my first grains of NDT, my temperature went up as I increased my dosage ( metabolism working now) I am now on 3 grains. I have researched all about the Thyroid, and bought many books to cross reference, the NHS have not got the time or resources. If they did, it would prevent many diabetes patients, and Heart decease patients. through being overweight! as unless T4 is kick starting T3 you will always be ill. and your metabolic rate sluggish.

if only it were that simple for everyone!I was on T4 for many years. When I introduced T3 into the mix with a T4/T3 combo, later with T3-only for 2 years, now with NDT for many months,my basal temperature has not risen. It still registers at 36.2.This is the temperature I was before adding T3.
(I make sure my levels of B1,B2,B3,B4,B5,B6,B12,D3+K2,iron with vit C,magnesium,zinc,selenium,folate,omega3,Q10 are good)
This is quite common,I understand & may relate to adrenal issues arising from so long on T4 monotherapy,or long-term stress etc
