Hi, after posting previously and getting excellent advice, I finally got to see my GP armed with lots of information/ammunition! It was the same person who gave me my hypoactive diagnosis 2 years ago and left me on a starter dose, then told me I was fine/menopausal/life was tiring...etc. She still told me I was ok because I was in range - I then listed all the reasons why this wasn't ok/quoted the BMA journal/told about optimal ranges of vitamins/minerals which were lacking (thanks Seaside Susie). She was obviously unhappy about this and said the classic line "We like to treat the person, not the numbers" - I laughed incredulously and said "Well that's obviously not the case as all you do is look at the numbers and ignore my obvious symptoms". She has doubled my levo (still paltry) and I've booked a blood test for 6 weeks (early and no food/meds). She made the mistake of asking me to fill in a feedback form which I gleefully did expressing urgent need for training in treating Thyroid issues. Feeling empowered - thanks all.

I love your final three sentences. Knowledge is power as they say and you have it

Wow Dolly - back of the net!!!!!!!!! Very well done!

Fantastic! Let's hope they take notice. Just think, there may be other mistreated hypo patients there that are now going to get better treatment thanks to you.
Feeling empowered
And that must feel wonderful
I'm so pleased for you.
Good for you, hope I get a feedback form the next time I visit the GP
