Dr Skinner and prednisolone

I have just been reading Dr Skinner's bk 'Diagnosis and Management of Hypothyroidism'.

In dealing with low cortisol levels he prefers prednisolone over hydrocortisone as it 'covers the mineralocorticoid as well as the glucocorticoid functions'

Has anyone had any expedience of using prednisolone for low cortisol and if so what was the outcome?
