Hi danielj1,i feel your pain.ha. i am cealiac so i dont have any choice but not to eat gluten as it will make me very ill but rhere is plenty of lovely foods you can eat, i think if you love fresh bread it is difficult as gluten free ones are totally different in taste and texture but have found one made by warburtons and it tastes quite nice. Eating out is also a pain sometimes.
You will benefit from a gluten free diet for your immune system as many people do, there are alot of people on this forum who would be able to advice you better on the answer to your question, im on mine for life-its not that bad!!x😨
I'm afraid that for most of us it is a life-sentence. However, if you got no benefit from going gluten-free you could start eating it again if you wanted. Why continue doing something that has no benefit for you personally?
Thanks - how does someone know if they don't have coeliac etc that they need to stay gluten free - is it just down to tpo antibody scores on regular blood tests?
I went gluten and dairy free for a few months and didn't feel any benefits .Antibodies rise and fall ...I had a reading of TPO 400 18mth ago but 2wk ago they were 219.... no gluten free there!I honestly felt no health improvements for the time I was doing it ...I did lose a lot of weight that I didn't want to lose though! Many do have massive benefits and I was hopeful it would help me but sadly not!For me life is hard enough. ..I have already sacrificed/given up so much to this disease so I won't be adding more to that list if it's not beneficial!
