I’m hoping someone can help, I recently had my TPO antibodies tested and the came back raised.
I hear lots of people saying if you have antibodies than you hashimotos, I’ve also heard the opposite people say that just because you have raised TPO this doesn’t mean you necessarily have hashimotos. Can someone please help me understand, I’m very confused
It's usually doctors that say that high antibodies don't mean Hashi's. But what do they know? They don't even call it Hashi's, they call it Autoimmune Thyroiditis, and they know nothing about it.
But, that's what the ranges are for. If you have an over-range result, then you have Hashi's. If you have at least three in-range results, then you possibly don't, but you can't prove a negative!
