New brand name

Hi All, has anyone tried the new NorthStar brand of Levothyroxine ? It looks like it’s made by Actavis just wasn’t sure if anyone had any feedback before I give it a go.

It'a probably just the supplier that's packaged levothyroxine in their own branded packaging and called it North Star. If you check the side of the box or the patient information leaflet it should say who produces the actual levothyroxine tablets. There are only a few manufacturers in the UK. Actavis are based in Barnstaple.

Hi Nanaedake, yes it’s Actavis in Barnstaple. Just concerned me a bit as the box is a completely different colour and I wasn’t sure if there was possibly something different about the brand.

There seem to be a number of different packaging firms who supply Actavis. In this area it's Almus levvothyroxine which is actually ACTAVIS. I'm sure they're all the same if made in the same factory. You could contact ACTAVIS to check it out if you wanted to. They're pretty good at replying.
