Does anyone experience body twitching symptoms from hashimoto? Under or overactive thyroid?

Yes, I used to suffer with a flickering of my lower eyelid and twitches in my right shoulder. Since my end agreed to put me on a combination of t4 and t3 they have resolved, although I'm still symptomatic and not fully optimal (end is reluctant to increase my t3). Have you had a formal diagnosis for Hashi's? Have you had your thyroid levels checked? You may want to post your results and someone will be able to advise you.

Have a look at your vitamin B intake made by our good bacteria particularly B1 or B2. Could be your gut is compromised? If having to supplement aim for active forms and liposomal if possible. Magnesium gel, oil and supplementation including green smoothies also helps.

Testing would be a good place to start for mineral and vitamin status and that could be done remotely with a Functional Nutritionist over Skype. Dr Sarah Myhill’s book its Mitochondria not hypochondria is excellent along with Dr Isabella Wenz s Books. Detoxing is key as your metabolism improves with T3 hence the greater need for vitamins and minerals.

Ultimately try to find out what has made you hypothyroid in the first place and work to eradicate.

Best Wishes

Thank you for your suggestion. The vitamin thing will be the next step if her hormonal test comes back good.

Hi kelly i am hyper and have been for nearly 2 months now and diagnosed with hashi's this week. I dont get them half as bad now but when originally diagnosed the body twitching and tremors were awful they used to wake me from my sleep with great force, they were quite scary at first and my husband had to calm me down but got used to them, mine used to be mainly at nightime, just as i would not off they would start, body jerks, legs shaking etc, i found that when i started taking the carbimazole 20mgs they got less and less, i stopped taking beta blockers as i found out they made it twice as bad and also started taking 20mgs of solgars gentle iron as my ferritin levels were the very low end. Also introduced lambs liver and dark leafy veg into my diet and i think this has helped.x

My daughter had her thyroid taken out four years ago. She still twitches.

Oh yes

Whole leg shaking, so embarrassing at work, and hands, so difficult to do your face! It was very visible and awkward

For me it was ok once my Metavive dose was ok

The thing is that my daughter had her thyroid taken out. She is hypothyroid now and her body still shakes and twitches. She also has a hard time keeping her weight low. She eats right and exercises, cardio and weights regularly. Doctor is now testing her for polycistic ovarian syndrome. I guess the next step is to test her vitamin levels.
