cathy1110 What was your Vit D result when tested?
You have been asked numerous times by members in other posts to give your results with their ranges. If you don't give the result then no-one can comment on whether 20,000 a week is enough or how much more you might need.
Please give the result if you want members to help you.
Sorr y i have put results on a thew times
Cathy1110,
You can't expect people to trawl through all of your posts to find the relevant results. I've had a look and without opening all of your posts I can't see where you've posted your vitD result.
If you want to know whether 20,000iu per week is enough please reply to SeasideSusie with your vitD level.
14 nmol(>51.0 and below says.>30nmol/L defiiceny
Cathy1110,
20,000iu per week won't be enough. Your GP should refer to local guidelines or the NICE CKS recommendations for treating vitamin D deficient adults cks.nice.org.uk/vitamin-d-d...
My GP prescribed 40,000iu daily x 14 followed by 2,000iu daily x 8 weeks which raised vitD from <10 to 107. Vitamin D should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
Alternatively you can buy vitamin D3 without prescription from Amazon. If you buy on Amazon please use the affiliate link healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Vitamin D tsh is 5.2mu/L(0.27-42) and i on 20.000 one a week. Just going to ring doctor. How much vitD should i ask her for. Someone did say.but cant find it now. Thankyou.
You've got your Vit D/TSH mixed up here. Your TSH is 5.2 (0.27-4.2)
Your Vit D is 14. As I said in previous post, which is just below
If you read the recommendations you will see that it says you need a total of 300,000iu over a period of time and that could be one of the following
"Several treatment regimens are available, including 50,000 IU once a week for 6 weeks (300,000 IU in total), 20,000 IU twice a week for 7 weeks (280,000 IU in total), or 4000 IU daily for 10 weeks (280,000 IU in total)"
So you need a total loading dose of 300,000iu over whatever period your GP decides out of those given in the guidelines quoted here.
No not atall it was tsh results that i was asked to post .i look on print out.
You were also asked to post your Vit D result which you didn't do, you only gave TSH. But you have now and Clutter has pointed you in the right direction. You should read the recommendations that she has linked to then ask your GP for the loading doses, and 20,000iu a week is not enough.

Point this out to your GP and ask for the loading doses and when they have finished you will need a maintenance dose.
Thankyou so much
