Good Day,
I have been reading on the net about how Armour changed it's formulation and how this treated people really badly. Is it still the case, or is Armour back to its former glory?

I believe it has now been rectified and should not be problematic. No matter what we decide to dose with, it can still for some reason or another cause problems due maybe fillers/binders. It is always trial and error whatever we choose.
**Rare ** but some people are allergic to desiccated thyroid or thyroid extract derived from pigs or cows. I suspected cow to be case with me when I was on Thyrogold. My face got so swollen including my eyelids.
I was on the highest dose of Armour last year 3 grains = 180 mg x 2 and no matter how much I tried the weight refused to shift. The hair was great though no shedding. I am now T3 only because of the overweight problem it solved. When I become pregnant I plan on revisiting Armour again. I tried Thyrogold but it gave me water diabetes then odd vertigo symptoms.
Jeez! ThyroGold wasn't so good for you! I'm sorry to hear that but I am glad that you found a solution with T3. I'm currently pregnant (3 to 4 weeks) and I am on ThyroGold, which seems to treat me really well, but only on 150mg of it. The 300mg one makes me feel hypo. Anyway, I think Armour will be great for me during the pregnancy, so I was just enquiring because my doctor wants to give me a prescription of it.
Thanks for the feedback.
Inana and Shaws,
This Armour article is a keeper by Dr. Westin Childs. It includes proper dosing charts and how to add T3 into Armour for successful thyroid function.
