You've got the green light but you need to make sure it stays good. Are you supplementing? 100 is thought to be optimal.
Sorry about late message seemed to have missed u how I don't know......I don't supplement.....I was given folic acid 5mg tablets 4months ago but not taken them as was told could give a false b12 result as it was in range but on low side and test before that was just below range.
Hope ur as well as can be and thank you for ur reply.
B12 is best high in range and then if folic acid is low, you can supplement for 3 months to bring it up to half way in range. You might want a low vitamin D supplement over the winter since this was taken at the end of the summer.
What about iron? Did you get that tested?
Not sure if iron tested I fink it was.Would u be able to check on my other posts it may be on.if not it may av bin done or not.thanks for the interest😀
Is that a private lab testing in the UK? x
Virtually all labs in the UK do a mixture of private and NHS work.
However to get access to private testing in most cases you need a medical practitioner* to say why you need it.
In the case of City Assays, they are an the lab for an NHS hospital in the Midlands and you can order a vitamin D test directly. It is a finger prick test. Their website is here - vitamindtest.org.uk/index.html
The other providers mentioned on here frequently are Blue Horizons and Medichecks. When you initially use them you have to give them a reason why you want the test which their medical practitioner will verify and tell the lab. Links to these providers are - thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...
*Some nurses can prescribe and order tests
Hi Chance, D is really a pro hormone and is needed by every cell of your body. Low D is implicated in cancer and infections and the best way to get it is from sunshine where it goes into storage and then used. If you are in the northern hemisphere, we are probably all in need especially when winter comes. This is a great article of its importance.
