Sorry daveD, I've never seen a 100mcg tablet. Could it be because they are from different manufactures/ pharmacy companies?

I'm on 75mcg. My 50 is slightly bigger than the 25. When I was with a different pharmacist, both came from same company (a different one from other two) and both 50mcg and 25mcg were same size tablets so must be more fillers in the 25mcg.

You could ask your pharmacist?

Why 2 months Dave ? ?

With these symptoms, you are rightfully concerned. I would go back to doctor. Take with you a written list of all your current symptoms as you put on here and ask for them to be addressed.

Have you ever had blood tests for nutrients levels especially

B12

Folate

Vitamin D

Ferritin?

If not then ask your GP to do them asap.

Google symptoms of deficiencies in each of these. You could also ask on Pernicious Anemia forum about these symptoms.

Do you have any results of blood tests you've had recently? If so could you post them with full info ie dates of tests, figures with ranges in brackets and any comments.

What was your diagnosis? Were you tested for Thyroid Antibodies? Do you have Hashimoto's? If you haven't been tested for TPO and Tg you could ask for these also.

Are they from different manufacturers?

Sorry shaws but with the Brain fog it takes me an age to post. yes they are different brands, I am now thinking it is the make up of the tablets.Thanks.

Sometimes a different brand will have different fillers/binders which can affect us.

Ask pharmacist if he will provide the same brand of 50 and 100mcg and it should be relatively easy for him.

The actual amount of levothyroxine in a tablet is tiny (regardless of dosage!).

Therefore, the majority of each tablet is the excipients (inactive ingredients). The manufacturer decides on the formulation for many reasons including ease of making and reasonableness of final product size (not so small as to be unmanageable and not so large as to be difficult to swallow).

What are the two different brands?

If one is Teva lots of people have reported problems with taking this.

We should ideally always take only one brand and not chop and change.

Morning SlowDragon. just got back from the surgery and just checked tablets and yes the 50mg thyroxine is Teva all so larger than the 100mg one. will ask Mr Google on that subject. Life.s little woes.Thank you. Dave.

Actavis Levothyroxine is available in both 100 and 50 mcgs.

Hope this helps.

Definitely ditch the Teva - get new prescription for Activis 50mcg to match the 100mcg

You can put in a yellow card to report bad reaction to Teva (many others have done so)

Different brands give different results
